Steve Fullerton, Director of Network & Operations Center, Clemson University
Currently, I serve as the Director of Clemson University's Network & Operations Center (NOC). The NOC is a 24 x 7 x 365 operation. Our goal is to become more predictive than reactive, thus, avoiding significant downtime for the institution. We monitor network devices and Enterprise systems for the campus and some external customers. Using over 30 years of customer IT support service experience, I engage network technicians, system customers, and system developers to ensure new systems, updates, and changes bring about a positive computing environment. While there will always be potential disruption, my job and the team's is to lessen the impact as much as possible. This is done through strong communications and relationship building.
